Sitting in my swing this evening while Cookie Eloise played in the leaves brought back so many memories. When my children were small, they absolutely loved jumping in and playing in the leaf piles. As they got older, it continued to be fun a Fall pastime until they were in their middle teen years. That being said, now I enjoy watching my sweet Cookie Eloise play and roll in the leaves.
Once when I was about 11 years old, I remember having dinner, (the midday meal), and after eating, my mom and I walked down the road a couple of blocks. I remember it was a chilly yet sunny day with a rather sharp breeze blowing. The rain of the magnificently colored leaves landing on the ground as we walked brought about a definitive beauty. Looking back, the time pent with my Momma was even more beautiful. The rain falls, the wind blows, the leaves swirl around, and the colors change. Just as times change, my kids have gotten older and they now help with raking the leaves instead of playing in them, albeit not half as much fun.
The memories are there as is the love we share. My kids are carving out their pumpkins and I could never be prouder.
Peace, Love, and Blessings!
